Di Warren Valencia Marathon

Valencia was good, what a stunning city! The weather was in the high 20s but on the Sunday, the day of the race, it rained. Poor Zoe who is from Portugal and was hoping for heat, was not pleased. The rest of us were quite pleased it was cooler.
The start at 8:35 was quite away from the hotel, it took a bit of logistics to get to the University where the start pens were located. A jippy tummy overnight meant a few loo visits and one on route. However although this probably meant a couple of minutes added to my time, it’s just something to contend with and to say, hey ho that’s running!
It really is a beautiful city with the most amazing architecture, a lot of which was on route. It wasn’t anywhere near my fasted time but I was happy with my time of 1:57:23
There were 17,255 male finishers and 8,790 female finishers, with the winner completing in 58:02, an insane pace!
This was number 4 in the Superhalf Series. That’s Cardiff, Lisbon, Prague and Valencia completed, with Berlin in March and Copenhagen in September. It’s a fantastic way to see a city!
